Frankfurt, November 7, 2005. Through the acquisition of the German-based VoIP provider Sellect One, Télésonique SA ensures a state-of-the-art VoIP Services Platform, technological know-how, extensive global connectivity and a diversified base of international clients and suppliers.
The first official joint appearance will take place today at the ITEX (Internet & Telecom Exchange http://www.itextrade.info) Tradeshow in Frankfurt . Télésonique as exhibitor will take this opportunity to introduce itself to ITEX participants; mainly European carriers and Internet Service Providers.
An important aspect of this acquisition is Sellect One's direct interconnections to Telecom providers spread all over the world's five continents. Internet Protocols like H323 and SIP (Session Internet Protocol) are used as technical basis to terminate VoIP traffic through Sellect One's highly available and low cost worldwide interconnections.
Télésonique strives for global expansion:
Sellect One is the first acquisition by Télésonique outside its home country; Switzerland. Previous acquisitions were focused on the Swiss market e.g. NETnet Suisse SA, GTN, Facilicom and One Tel. By acquiring Sellect One, Télésonique will be in a position to enlarge its service portfolio, and expand its target market.
The new entity which combines Sellect One and Télésonique's Carrier Services division, will be named Télésonique Global Telecom eXchange (GTeX), and led by Ralf Koehler (former Sellect One's Managing Director).
Télésonique GTeX aims to increase the number of interconnections to over 100 countries, to boost traffic volume and launch new and innovative VoIP-based Value Added Services.
The combined traffic volume is expected to exceed 1 billion VoIP connections in 2006.
