VimpelCom offered its clients the worldwide Public WLAN access, based on WeRoam's Roaming Platform and Connection Manager client software.

Bern, May 3rd 2006 - WeRoam, the leading aggregator of Public WLAN roaming and provider of enabling solutions, delivers services that allow VimpelCom, a major mobile operator in Russia and CIS, to recently launch an international WLAN roaming service to their national business customers.
Aiming at offering a reliable and efficient business solution that fully integrates into their existing GSM network infrastructure, VimpelCom decided to rely on WeRoam' s experience and proven services for SIM based Public WLAN Roaming. A simple connection between the Roaming Platform and VimpelCom's Home Location Registers (HLR) opened roaming access to an international footprint of hotspots in more than 50 countries. All existing Roaming-Billing and -Clearing procedures are supported without further adaptations. The complete set of back office services, combined with the Connection Manager end user client software, brought VimpelCom an entire GSM//WLAN data solution ready to be marketed to its' subscribers. VimpelCom's offer features a WLAN/GPRS combo card, a SIM card and client software for secure and easy user login. SIM authentication is beneficial for both, the mobile operator because of the provisioning system reuse and the end user because of its simplicity and enhanced security.
