StolenCars24 - A valuable tool when buying used cars

18.10.2007, 13 Uhr - StolenCars24

StolenCars24 emerges as an important tool for those who intent to buy used cars and likewise for victims of car theft. As of September, three months after its launch, Europe's first database for stolen vehicles totaled 1500 monthly search requests and in average 100 additional cars are reported stolen per month. The usage of this service is absolutely free of charge.
StolenCars24 is the first European database for reporting stolen cars. The service fulfills two requirements: On the one hand it is possible to check if an offered car was reported stolen by entering its vehicle identification number ("VIN"). On the other hand people can report their stolen car and provide their e-mail address which is displayed to the one who checks for this VIN. In the mean time the service is available in seven languages: English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian and Polish.

StolenCars24 closes an information gap
This service closes a gap in the official information system by the police. Although it is of course possible to call the police and ask if a car in question was reported stolen, the police is not obliged to fulfill the request nor are the databases of the individual European police departments interconnected among each other

StolenCars24 has a strict data privacy policy
StolenCars24 is a service provided free of charge and works anonymously. This includes all services like registration, deleting and searching for entries. The stored data (especially the provided e-mail address) is only displayed within search requests for the vehicle ID (VIN) in question. This data is not provided to any third party (e.g. for advertising purposes).
